This house stands on a private road that leads off from the North Pepperell Road. The land was probably part of the Eastman farm. Ruth Rogers speaks of a Lovejoy family here first and she does not list the Eli Hardy family. Mary and Sarah Hardy, when they lived near the church, used to speak of this as their old home. That might be in the 1860's. In the 1880's Thaddeus B. Mason and his family were living here. In later years William D. Erskine, who died in 1940. Mrs. Elizabeth Carter bought the place in 1948, but Mrs. Erskine has the privilege of living there if she wishes. (R.R.No.541) In 1954 Henry Pineo moved in.

Note: Edith Mason says that her father bought the place from Luke Blood. Luke used to walk to Nashua with his wheelbarrow barefoot until he reached the city.

This was originally a shack that Mrs. Carter used for an herb house. It was moved over to this spot in 1951 and made into a house. Mrs. Kecy and her daughter Alice are living there in 1953.

In the summer of 1954 Mrs. Edith Durant moved in.

Thomas Greenleaf bought land of John Coburn and built this house with the help of Will McMaster probably before 1900. Albert Wetmore lived here for a while. Winthrop L. Carter has owned it for some years and his farm manager has lived here ‑ Jack Woods first and for the last year, Emil Kivela. (1953)

Late in 1956 Mr. Carter sold the house to Eben N. Thompson
